"A member of the public contacted the Ceaser's Basin Keepers with concerns about a suspected dog fighting ring behind the Slitherbury Golf Club on Friday (March 15). The next morning, a Basin Keeper visited the site and found a small circle marked out with logs surrounding a rope swing suspended from a branch and accompanied by a single plastic seat. The ring was discovered a short distance from St. Christopher's cemetary, situated in a dense forest clearing. Accusations of criminal negligence, gambling and abuse have been suggested as blood and fur were found on and around the ring. An old metal cage was found in nearby shrubbery, though the rusted condition means the two may discoveries not be connected. Police are determined to find the individuals responsible for these crimes and wish to hear from anyone who knows of any such activity in Slitherbury or the surrounding area."
